Today we read Peter Reynold's The Dot. We also read the French translation, Un bon point pour Zoé.
This was in conjunction with 'Dot Day', a celebration that occurs on September 15th where teachers around the world read this book and share in activities afterwards. This year, there are 1,000,000 people registered to participate.
After listening to the story, we talked about what message the author was trying to convey.
Students came up with the following messages...
-Never give up on yourself
-Don't judge a book by its cover.
-Everyone is different.
-Keep drawing
-Keep trying
-Everyone can draw something.
-Make your mark and see where it takes you.
And the winner.....Be creative and try something new.
This is the message that we will be working with over the rest of the week. So our challenge to you...Be creative and try something new!!
