Words their Way

Parents, we have officially started our spelling program, Words Their Way (WTW).  It is a sound based program, so kids have been learning the words in terms of which sound group they belong to.  Words their Way does not require kids to memorize the spellings for each word, since the goal is for them to understand why they are spelled in a particular way.  There are, of course, exceptions to the rule, which WTW refers to as 'oddballs'.  Every week that we finish a sort, you will see a pack of words come home in the agenda.  These are to review and to keep at home.  After a month or so, we will do a spelling test with the words from the preceeding 4-5 weeks.  Any questions....feel free to ask!
